I live such a great life!
I'm married to Caren and have 2 beautiful children. I just recently changed
careers from a great job at Hewlett Packard to what appears to be a great
job with the State of California CalPERS. For fun I ride a mountain bike &
hike.
Caren and I have been married for 15 years now (since 1994). We have very little
time together since having children but enjoy the few dates we can schedule. Our beautiful and talented and
sweet and otherwise perfect daughter Morgan was born in 1999. She seems pretty
bright and has way too much energy for me to contain. Our awesome son Ethan was born in 2000
and love bike rides and mud. I have posted photos of both children
throughout the site.
Caren and I met though
church and now we attend the Laguna Creek Calvary Chapel Church. We've
stayed at several churches in the area and recently settled on Calvary
Chapel because of their focus on the Bible. I attended CSU Fresno and earned(?) a BS in
Construction Management. After college I started
off in construction, moved to architecture and ended up in technology. I worked for
Paragon General Contractors in Point Richmond building high-end custom
homes. The work was great but it was too expensive to live in the Bay area on the meager salary I was drawing.
We then moved to Fresno where I took a drafting position with CarlstromArchtecture and then
Murray and Downs Architects in Placerville. Fun jobs but my goal was to
allow Caren to be a homemaker and not have to get a 'job'. I took some training in Microsoft products and
eventually landed a position at Hewlett-Packard where I
supported customers on Openview products and provided business analysis and
project management for the software division. After 10 years at
HP I recently took a position with the State of
California Public Employees' Retirement System. CalPERS manages a large retirement fund and administers health benefits for
government employees in California.
I used to golf
a lot but that got too expensive so now I choose less expensive hobbies an d
also try to steer toward hobbies that get me outdoors and get my heart pumping a little. I spend some of my
free time riding a mountain bike and a rode bike. Some friends and I ride trails up in Auburn
a few times a year. I also
do a little hiking but I'm still just a novice. Here is my
gear list. In July 2003 some friends and I
backpacked to the top of Mt. Whitney, the tallest peak in the lower 48 states at
around 14,500 foot high.
