Desolation Wilderness Hike, 2004

In October 2004 I backpacked into the Desolation Wilderness with Bob and Kyle.  We got a late start as we didn't leave town til noon and we had to stop at Walmart to buy a pair of boots for someone that forgot to bring them (me).  Because we were pressed for time we didn't make it to Rubicon Lake as planned.  Instead we made camp at the first lake, Lake Genevieve.  Snow was predicted but we escaped any bad weather although the rain and wind were enough to blow Kyle's tent over in the middle of the night.  He woke up a little disoriented.  hehe  Good hike and I'm anxious to hike in the DW again next spring.
